Memorable Incidents: Being drum majorette of the band and
achieving a superior rating at band contest. I was a very shy person
and it was something I really didn’t\'t believe I would be able to do.
Since High School: I was married in my senior year and we had
four children very close together. You might say I grew up with my
children. My husband was in the Air Force and was assigned to a tour of
duty in Everue France in 1962, where I and three of our children joined
him in 1963. Our fourth child was born in France.
We came back to the United States in 1965 and moved to Greenville, MS.
We were there for about a year and then relocated to Houston, Texas. I
worked for the telephone company for a while and then went to American
General Holding Company for 10 years or so.
After thirty years my marriage ended and I came back to Mississippi and
worked at several places before I went to work at Hancock Bank where I
worked until retirement in 2006. I remarried in 1988 and moved to
Gulfport. My husband passed away in 1998 and in 2007 I moved to
Diamondhead, MS where I now live.
Memorable Teachers: Mrs. Lloyd was my all-time favorite. It was
easy to talk to her and when she taught history she made it
interesting. I didn’t like history but the way she taught it, she was
able to hold my interest. She's a great lady!
