Since High School: Two weeks after graduating I went in the Navy. I served in Viet Nam aboard an aircraft carrier for seven months. I was in for a total of eight years. I got out in 1968 and went to work for MS Power Co. I retired from them Dec 31st 1997 for a total of 30 Years. I really enjoy being retired. I am currently serving as a Harrison County Tourism Commissioner, serve on Cruisin the Coast board, VP of mardi gras carnival assoc of Long Beach an taxi service for 4 grandchildren, sometimes I still have time to play a little golf. I have two street rods (hot rods) a 1942 Chevy pickup and a 1965 Chevy two door auto. I really enjoy going to car shows, etc.
Future Plans: living until I am 100 years old
Memorable Teachers:
Mr. Reeves--he knew I lived in Gulfport but he encouraged me to go to school and play basketball. He always called me Dub and critiqued me after every basketball game. Coach Magee, if it wasn't for football (all sports), I probably would have never finished high school, he encouraged me to do so. Mr. Hilton for being who he was, a great inspiration to all.
