The scroll was
created by Mr. Jim at the Busy Bee during the Fall of 1956. I was
injured in August 1956, while riding on the fender of a car coming back
from swimming at Wolf River.
The scroll was made using a large roll of
adding machine tape (probably not made anymore) and two pencils (from
Colonial Bread), the scroll is rolled on the original pencils.
The scroll was put on the counter at the Busy Bee and everybody was
invited to write, draw or whatever they wanted as a very long get well
card to me in the hospital.
The scroll has always had a special place in my memories of Long Beach
and the many friends I have through the fifty years since it was given
to me.

Thanks to Don for trusting me with the
scroll to be able to scan it and share it with everyone.
